Dog Sledding
Adventure
Norway

Grading Level - T1 Easy

(click HERE to find out more about our grading)

On the first night you will sleep in a traditional Arctic lavvu shared between two (Sami wooden tent with raised sleeping area) each lavvu has a wood burning stove to keep it extra cosy. The second you will sleep in expedition grade two man tents that you will carry with you on your sled like real Arctic explorers.

You will be responsible for looking after and feeding your dog team, full instructions and assistance if required will be given by our local professional guides. Included is all the food for you and your dog team, necessary equipment and extreme weather clothing. However, it is a good idea to bring the warmest clothes you have, spare socks and underclothes. (Merino is an excellent choice)

This trip can vary from easy to physically demanding, so a reasonable level of fitness is required, should you have any medical conditions that you are concerned about, please make us aware of this before booking.

Our tour drives through the mountain area, we may begin and end at different locations depending on the ever unpredictable weather and snow conditions.

You will pass through deep arctic valleys and climb to spectacular views with your dog team. The downhills are Adrenalin filled and the uphills will often take a bit of effort on your part where you work in unison with your world class trained dog team in order to move through the Lapland Fjälls.

On a good day the scenery is nothing short of breathtaking, surrounded by blue skies and spectacular mountains all around you, but sometimes when the snow and wind arrive you will see nothing but the sled in front of you with next to zero visibility.

One will be the "musher" (driver), and one will be in the sled. You change places, so both get to experience the thrill of mushing and the comfort of the sled. The huskies love to run, but be aware that you will have to play your part in helping the team up the slopes and difficult terrains. This is a fun and exciting experience, where you will also get a bit of a physical workout.

Dog sledding is an amazing family friendly adventure, with our 3 day tour you can experience what its like to travel through the arctic circle and Laplands with your own team of huskies. This adventure is suitable for a very wide range of participants, whether you are a solo adult traveller, couple, group of friends or family with children. This three-day excursion is a full-on mushing experience which is ideal for people planning a short but adventurous break from normal life

Winter in Lapland arrives early and stays late. The season for dog sledding in Lapland extends from mid-November to late April.

This 3 day excursion includes everything such as accommodation, Kosher hot food & drinks along the way, any extra equipment you might need to stay extra warm, experienced Arctic guides and transport to and from the excursion.
